FOSTERING----To the rescue community, fosters are worth their weight in gold. When a person fosters an animal, it gives the pet time to heal, distress, and get accustomed to life outside a kennel. It provides the opportunity for the caregiver to love and enjoy a dog or cat without making a long term commitment. What does it take to become a foster? Fosters must be 18 years or older, be allowed to have animals at their residence, have the time to properly care for the foster pet (play, vet appointments, etc.), maintain a safe, comfortable indoor environment, and take the pet to adoption events.
